Who here has been personally victimized by the “Sunday Scaries?” It’s the end of the weekend and you might be feeling overwhelmed for a new week and a new Monday. I have to be honest, I actually love Mondays. I feel like Mondays are a fresh start for the week, and a time to start on a clean and healthy note. If I ate poorly over the weekend (or indulged in too much wine), I look at the new week as an opportunity to start over. Sunday is the day for me to unwind and prepare for a successful week ahead. I wanted to share a few Sunday rituals to set you up for a productive week. Let’s get into it…
Go grocery shopping
I love to grocery shop on Sundays. It’s important for me to open up my fridge on Monday and see my fresh fruit for the day. If you don’t know, I like to start my mornings with fruit. Whether on its own or in something like oatmeal, I find it’s the easiest way to make sure I’m getting my daily dose. What I like to do is type out a few meal ideas in my phone and then type out another note with the groceries I’ll need to make those meals. Examples below of what this looks like for me…
Make to-do lists
Lists are amazing. They get your thoughts out and help you stay organized. If you use a written planner, you can go through and write out any important events or tasks for the week. This way you can plan around those things throughout the week, but at least you have a starting point. If you use Google calendar or another digital form of planning, do the same thing. Then, what I like to do is use the notes feature on my computer and make a to-do list for each day. I don’t overplan, but I like to have a general idea of what each day is going to look like. My to-do list might look something like…
MONDAY:
– coffee & emails
– edit photos
– organize feed for the week
– start to plan next week’s blog post
Clean your space
This one’s important, and trust me, when you wake up on Monday and are getting ready for the day… you’ll appreciate a clean space. I love to do a deep clean especially of my kitchen, bathroom & closet area. These areas I find myself the most rushed and running around in. Whether I’m needing to quickly brew a cup of coffee, do my makeup in the bathroom, or find something to wear. Cleaning up these areas will set you up for success when the new week hits.
